For some reason Kiwis poke fun at Twizel in the South Island. Too many sheep farmers perhaps? We found this Farm-stay B&B to be a great location close to Mt. Cook. It was here that we re-confirmed our love for savory scones (although I wouldn’t refuse a proper Cream tea) and that fresh NZ lamb is in a league of its own.
Farmer JP, on top of his hay bale, is probably looking for Gus, the farm’s friendly Labrador Retriever. Gus was supposedly leading us to the farm’s private riverfront, but we spent most of the time trying to keep the Lab out of the farm next door.
