Inside the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, Sharon thought the ANZAC medals had visual appeal.

Some believe that the ANZAC battles during World War I, particularly the Gallipoli campaign in Turkey, were the true beginning of Australian nationhood.  It’s still the British Queen on the medals and currency, though, thanks to the failure of the Australian Republic Referendum in 1999.
